· Q: What is a virtual race?
A: A virtual race can be run (or walked!) anytime during the designated time. Participants raise money for the James Madison H.S. band program and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department while completing their chosen distance solo, with family, or with friends. Wear your VTT hat and spot other participants as you run your race!
· Q: How does a virtual race work?
A: Register for one of the distances, complete the distance anywhere you like (even on a treadmill!), and send your 5K or 10K finish time to Racewire (instructions to be provided). The one-mile fun run / dog walk is NOT a timed event.
· Q: When can I run the Vienna Turkey Trot?
A: Anytime between 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2020, through 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, November 28.
· Q: How do I track my distance and time my run/walk?
A: We accept results on the honor system, so you can use whatever method you wish. A GPS-enabled watch will provide the most accurate results, but there are some free apps you can download onto your phone that will track your time and distance -- Strava, Map My Run, and RunKeeper are a few.
· Q: Can I run with my dog?
A: YES! This is the ONE YEAR you can run the VTT with your dog! (Typically dogs are prohibited under USATF rules.) We even have a special category for dog walkers this year.
· Q: WHAT no T-shirt????
A: No, we're doing hats this year, to make for easy, safe distribution. (Be sure to register by 11/5 to be guaranteed your hat!) Now that 11/5 is passed, we can no longer guarantee you a hat. That said, if you're interested in receiving one later (like early December), please check the appropriate box on the registration form. If we have sufficient interest, we'll place another hat order!
· Q: I won an award! What next?
A: We will send it to you!
· Q: I'm registered but no longer want to run. Can I get a refund?
A: No refunds are given under any circumstances
